Animal Crossing Resource Pack 1.16 / 1.15

What surprised me most about the Animal Crossing Resource Pack is how naturally it brings that cheerful, colorful Nintendo-style atmosphere into Minecraft without completely throwing away the game’s blocky identity. Inspired by Animal Crossing: New Horizons, the pack gives familiar Minecraft textures a much brighter and more playful appearance. After spending some time with it, I found the stronger colors and cleaner designs make the world feel noticeably more relaxed. Grass looks greener, flowers stand out more, snow has a smoother appearance, and several everyday blocks and items get redesigned with the Animal Crossing aesthetic in mind.

The pack uses a 32x resolution, so the textures have more detail than vanilla Minecraft’s 16×16 assets, but the visual style still remains simple and cartoon-like. There are also plenty of smaller changes that make the theme feel more complete, including new flower varieties, redesigned crafting tables and chests, cleaner-looking glass, fruits such as coconuts, oranges, and peaches, and various decorative items. Mobs receive one of the more unusual changes: animals are treated almost like piñatas, with different fruits dropping from them instead of the usual meat-based drops. Villagers also get updated appearances, while the GUI and inventory icons are cleaned up to match the rest of the pack.

The atmosphere goes beyond just blocks and items, too. The pack includes updated sounds and music, while the sky and water receive visual improvements that become even more impressive when paired with suitable shaders. The custom sky features are also why OptiFine is required for the supported setup. Keep in mind that shaders can have a noticeable impact on performance, especially on older PCs, so I’d test them separately before running everything together. The pack was still being developed and received several updates, so some areas may vary depending on the Minecraft version you’re using. For players running the older supported versions from 1.15 through 1.16.5, it’s a fun choice if you want Minecraft to feel brighter, friendlier, and much closer to the cozy atmosphere of Animal Crossing.

Animal Crossing! is compatible with all of the following Minecraft versions: 1.16.5 – 1.16.4 – 1.16.3 – 1.16.2 – 1.16.1 – 1.16 – 1.15.2 – 1.15.1 – 1.15
