One of the first texture packs developed for Minecraft was Ravanda’s realistic resource pack. The pack was first released over five years ago. Although not updated regularly, this pack remains popular among those who play Minecraft. The resource pack is developed specifically for players who want to fully engage with the game and have a medieval look. While Minecraft fans have used a number of well-designed resource packs for the game over the many years they’ve been playing the game, Ravand’s realistic pack is different for a number of reasons. The textures in the pack are developed to provide even the smallest details and the textures are extremely immersive. The visuals of the various items in the pack look real and make the players completely engrossed in the game.
After applying Ravand’s pack to Minecraft, players will notice that the textures in the pack are extremely detailed. The colors used are bright and enhance the gameplay. Another feature of the pack is that textures are noise-free, although this does not affect detail, which is the most important feature of the pack. This pack of Ravand’s is available in five different resolutions from 16 x 16, the lowest resolution, to 256 x 256, which is the highest. For X256 resolution, the player will require a high-quality computer with a powerful processor and enough memory to use all the features of the package. In case a player wishes to use a source pack with a lower FPS, they should be aware that lower resolution versions of the pack, such as X64 and X32, should be selected. These versions of the package will also work on low-end, low-end computers.

How to install Ravand’s Realistic Resource Pack:
- Most source packages require Optifine, so be sure to download and install it. – a general recommended step for all packages, Optifine is also needed for most shaders
- Download Ravand’s Realistic texture pack for Minecraft from the download section below. – if there are many different versions, just choose the one you like, is compatible with your version/edition of minecraft that you think your computer can handle in terms of performance.
- Launch the game client via the Minecraft launcher.
- Click “Options” in the main menu.
- Click on “Resource Packs…” from the options menu.
- Click “Open Resource Pack Folder”. – a folder named “resourcepacks” will appear.
- Move the .zip file you downloaded in the first step into the newly opened “resourcepacks” folder.
- Click “Done”.
- Click on “Resource Packs…” again.
- Your package should appear in the left window, just hover over it and click on the arrow pointing to the right.
QUICK TIP: Sometimes when activating a pack, the game may say that the pack is made for a newer or older version of Minecraft. This is just a warning, it doesn’t affect your game in any way and you can still activate and enjoy the pack by just clicking “Yes” when prompted.
- Click “Done” again.
- The package has now been successfully loaded and is ready to use in your world!
