Simplex Resource Pack 1.8.9

In a vast sea of stunningly detailed high definition resource packs Simplex resource pack is a refreshing take on a minimalist look that is rarely seen these days. However, the simplicity of this packaging does not come at the expense of quality. It's important to note that while this improves the overall atmosphere and even makes the world a bit cartoony, it still manages to retain the original boxy feel of Minecraft. Casual players will be pleasantly surprised by the relaxing feel these overtextures bring to the table. The first thing you notice is the “flat” look of the blocks. They don't try to overcomplicate the texture structure – instead they're fairly simple with lots of detail and contours that modern, realistically inspired resource packs lack. You won't be overwhelmed and wonder if you're looking at a block of stone or paving stones.

The developer applies this elegant, unique formula to every part of the game. According to him, the goal of Simplex is to combine a simple and angular style with the detail of HD textures – and it quite succeeded. While the deck is still not 100% complete, the most common blocks are more or less reworked. While you might expect Simplex to be a low-resolution source pack, it's not – the two versions available are 64×64 and 128×128. This is because even though the overall look of the textures is simple, there is an impressive depth to them that would otherwise be impossible to realize. If you're using a lower-end computer, it may cause a drop in performance, so if that's the case, run it together with Optifine. Although the original Simplex release is approaching its tenth birthday, it still manages to remain relevant and unique today.

Simplex should be compatible with all of these Minecraft versions: 1.8.9 1.8.8 1.8.1 1.8.6 1.8 1.7.10 1.7.9 1.7.4 1.7
