The SilverStone Resource Kit its development was stopped a few years ago. No developer has picked up the task of working on the source package, i.e. SilverStone. The latest version works with Minecraft 1.10. Players who want to still play with the SilverStone resource pack will need to use the Minecraft launcher and downgrade their installation to version 1.10 or lower. Newer versions of Minecraft may have problems running the resource pack. The SilverStone Resource Pack was created primarily to bring some improvements to the different block types available in Minecraft. Changes some color tones and visuals to make blocks more distinct and easier to distinguish. The resource pack is not limited to simply recoloring existing assets. It includes new textures and enhances existing ones such as Sandstone or Carved Sandstone. Not all objects in the game received new textures.

The last released version of the SilverStone texture pack only improves 50% of all assets. The author of the package also deliberately left out the change of textures for some elements such as grass or tree leaves, as they felt that there was no need to change them. Since development has stopped, it is unclear if the original author/developer of the resource pack had any plans to improve other textures. The source pack itself is small in size, but it contains more than enough visual tweaks to make significant changes to the vanilla version of Minecraft. In addition to texture improvements, the resource pack brings improved GUI and several particle effects. While not a complete resource pack, it brings plenty of changes to Minecraft's default visuals to make it worth checking out. Textures are created in 16×16 resolution. It will run on both modern and legacy systems as long as they are running Minecraft 1.10.x or earlier.
SilverStone should be compatible with all of these versions of Minecraft: 1.10.2 – 1.10 – 1.9.4 – 1.9 – 1.8.9 – 1.8.8 – 1.8.1 – 1.8.6 – 1.8

How to install SilverStone Resource Pack:
- Most source packages require Optifine, so be sure to download and install it. – a general recommended step for all packages, Optifine is also needed for most shaders
- Download the SilverStone texture pack for Minecraft from the download section below. – if there are many different versions, just choose the one you like, is compatible with your version/edition of minecraft that you think your computer can handle in terms of performance.
- Launch the game client via the Minecraft launcher.
- Click “Options” in the main menu.
- Click on “Resource Packs…” from the options menu.
- Click “Open Resource Pack Folder”. – a folder named “resourcepacks” will appear.
- Move the .zip file you downloaded in the first step into the newly opened “resourcepacks” folder.
- Click “Done”.
- Click on “Resource Pack…” again.
- Your package should appear in the left window, just hover over it and click on the arrow pointing to the right.
QUICK TIP: Sometimes when activating a pack, the game may say that the pack is made for a newer or older version of Minecraft. This is just a warning, it doesn't affect your game in any way and you can still activate and enjoy the pack by just clicking “Yes” when prompted.
- Click “Done” again.
- The package has now been successfully loaded and is ready to use in your world!
