VanillaBDCraft Resource Pack 1.21 / 1.20

VanillaBDCraft Resource Pack draws its roots from PureBDCraft, a 2011 deck from the same developer – Sphax. He even calls it a variation – while it copies the design of the original, it stays true to the vanilla feel of Minecraft as its name suggests. What sets it apart from other packs is the comic and cartoon aspect. When you load up the game, the higher resolution textures may seem like the only change. However, if you look closer, you will notice that the surfaces are sharper with well-defined lines and much more detail. Many gamers avoid resource packs that draw inspiration from comics because they expect high contrast and a completely different look. VanillaBDCraft maintains the game's original color palette with smooth transitions between different blocks. Each surface looks completely unified and connected, which is another plus if you want to create great structures. Fortunately, this traditional representation is not limited to the world – the Nether and End also retain their charms. Sphax are known for their attention to detail and this pack leaves no stone unturned. The images are also edited in a classic yet creative style that implements both real art and Minecraft elements. As for blocks, 100% of them received a retexture, from grass block to ancient ruins. The Warden in his Deep Dark biome will give you a real scare if you are not prepared for his menacing appearance with VanillaBDCraft. The most impressive change, however, is the wire armor armor. The pieces are now semi-transparent, making them really elegant and attractive. The GUI has been redesigned with a stone effect on all buttons and menus. If you're tired of the same sound effects and animations, you'll be pleasantly surprised to hear that VanillaBDCraft's texture pack will change that too. The sound varies depending on whether you are stepping on gravel or dirt and is very lively. The crackling fire has a different animation along with the sound that adds to the atmosphere and helps you fully immerse yourself in the game.

One of the biggest advantages of this package is the fact that it is based on vector graphics. This means that it will not lose its appearance regardless of the resolution in which you run it. The file size of the pack itself is smaller as a result, which can significantly improve game performance even when there are many textures to display at once. Also, the textures themselves are more consistent and you'll notice that after playing for a while. It is very difficult to see where one block ends and another begins, creating a cohesive visual experience. The amount of effort that went into VanillaBDCraft just shows that it's unique. In addition to the standalone changes that the pack itself brings, there are several add-ons that users can download for a few additional tweaks. These include a notepad add-on and a font add-on. The former modifies the look of the notepad for ease of use by displaying the exact instrument and note range, while the latter changes the game's font to an appropriate, comic-book TTF. Of course, VanillaBDCraft can run just fine without any add-ons. There is extensive support for various mods, so you can use the pack even in modded games. As for the package versions, it is available in the range from 32-512x. The developer itself recommends 128×128, but which one you should use depends on the type of computer you have. Note that the highest resolution only works on certain graphics cards such as the Nvidia 10 series due to the very high demand on resources. The website doesn't mention anything about Optifine, so it's highly likely that the package will work without it. However, if you want to squeeze in a few extra FPS, you should install it. Minecraft Bedrock players can get the exact same look and enjoy VanillaBDCraft as well. The Bedrock version is exclusively available on the Minecraft Marketplace with a very simple installation process. All things considered, this is one of the greatest resource packs to live up to the glory of its predecessor, and there's no reason not to give it a try.
