There are tons of Minecraft texture packs that are inspired by TV shows or cartoons. Sonic the Hedgehog Resource Pack brings, as you already know, Sonic to Minecraft. With several visual upgrades and changes, the Minecraft pack brings it even closer to the old 8-bit games that many gamers may feel familiar with. The resource pack uses new textures for most blocks that focus less on detail and more on solid colors. This makes the game more cartoonish and alive with the color palette that comes with the resource pack. Most blocks now use textures that don't mix too many colors and have very simple patterns. These new textures make it much easier to recreate levels and worlds inspired by cartoons and the old 8-bit Sonic the Hedgehog games. The textures themselves are a departure from the standard texture in vanilla Minecraft. There are also new animations and effects, as well as several new models for vegetation.

Fire and lava have also been changed, and the overall vibe that the resource pack sets is that everything looks a lot greener. The sounds were also changed in the Sonic the Hedgehog pack. This resource pack also includes new sounds that will make the game more immersive. The sounds further enhance the 8-bit arcade atmosphere. Players familiar with the old Sonic games will surely recognize them. The resource pack also takes some assets from the games, such as icons and sprites, which have been converted into game paintings. There is also a new texture for players that makes them look like Sonic. Despite most of the blocks having a new cartoon look, the source pack is available at 32x resolution as it allows for higher fidelity for the assets that were taken from the Sonic games. Since the default resolution in vanilla Minecraft is 16x, some players may experience minor performance degradation when using the resource pack, especially since it has a lot of new moving textures.

How to install Sonic the Hedgehog Resource Pack:

Most source packages require Optifine, so be sure to download and install it. – a general recommended step for all packages, Optifine is also needed for most shaders
Download the Sonic the Hedgehog texture pack for Minecraft from the download section below. – if there are many different versions, just choose the one you like, is compatible with your version/edition of minecraft that you think your computer can handle in terms of performance.
Launch the game client via the Minecraft launcher.
Click “Options” in the main menu.
Click on “Resource Packs…” from the options menu.
Click “Open Resource Pack Folder”. – a folder named “resourcepacks” will appear.
Move the .zip file you downloaded in the first step into the newly opened “resourcepacks” folder.
Click “Done”.
Click on “Resource Pack…” again.
Your package should appear in the left window, just hover over it and click on the arrow pointing to the right.
QUICK TIP: Sometimes when activating a pack, the game may say that the pack is made for a newer or older version of Minecraft. This is just a warning, it doesn't affect your game in any way and you can still activate and enjoy the pack by just clicking “Yes” when prompted.
Click “Done” again.
The package has now been successfully loaded and is ready to use in your world!
