Most Minecraft resource packs can be divided into two categories – realistic and cartoon – and Realistic Swag Resource Pack belongs to the first group. Many of them are created using real photos that are then converted to a lower resolution to display in the game. The Realistic Swag Pack seems to take a somewhat similar approach – the grass and water will leave you feeling like you're inside a picture instead of Minecraft. One huge advantage is that the Realistic Swag Pack does not need to be used in conjunction with Optifine, which is usually not the case with these types of retextures. It's important to note that while this resource pack tries to enhance the overall gaming experience, it does its best to keep the original feel of the game for those old-school Minecraft enthusiasts who can't live without its blocky nature.

Arguably the biggest change that players may see is the bodies of water. The Realistic Swag texture pack eliminates the cloudy texture of the original bodies of water and instead makes them transparent, meaning players can basically see what's on their bottom. Now this change would go pretty awesome with the recent Minecraft Aquatic update. Unfortunately, the pack was made with Minecraft 1.8, so you probably won't have an optimal experience with later versions of the game. However, the texture resolution is a whopping 128x, so it might be worth downgrading the game. But if you have a lower-end PC, you're likely to experience performance drops due to the eight times higher level of detail. Also, keep in mind that the pack is still in development as the developer seems to be taking their time with it.

How to install Realistic Swag Resource Pack:
- Most source packages require Optifine, so be sure to download and install it. – a general recommended step for all packages, Optifine is also needed for most shaders
- Download the Realistic Swag texture pack for Minecraft from the download section below. – if there are many different versions, just choose the one you like, is compatible with your version/edition of minecraft that you think your computer can handle in terms of performance.
- Launch the game client via the Minecraft launcher.
- Click “Options” in the main menu.
- Click on “Resource Packs…” from the options menu.
- Click “Open Resource Pack Folder”. – a folder named “resourcepacks” will appear.
- Move the .zip file you downloaded in the first step into the newly opened “resourcepacks” folder.
- Click “Done”.
- Click on “Resource Packs…” again.
- Your package should appear in the left window, just hover over it and click on the arrow pointing to the right.
QUICK TIP: Sometimes when activating a pack, the game may say that the pack is made for a newer or older version of Minecraft. This is just a warning, it doesn't affect your game in any way and you can still activate and enjoy the pack by just clicking “Yes” when prompted.
- Click “Done” again.
- The package has now been successfully loaded and is ready to use in your world!
