Perch Resource Pack 1.19 / 1.18

For those who wish to try something else than vanilla Minecraft, the Perch Resource Pack looks like 8-bit games. Players may not want or need a high-resolution resource pack. More over 16x resolution causes major performance concerns for many players. You may offend other players by applying high-resolution textures to alter Minecraft’s appearance. RPG-themed 8x resolution graphics from the Perch texture collection evoke arcade games. A community member with high-resolution resource pack experience released Bass! in late 2020. J. Bergelin’s first 8x resource pack is successful, so he releases regular upgrades. The game looks better in many ways. Although texture resolution has decreased, objects and blocks are still identifiable. Minecraft has worked on everything—trees, flowers, ores, libraries, paintings, mobs, swords, meadows, farms, etc. Tree leaves have been angularized. The developer claims to have updated most resource pack textures. The game is now brighter and more colorful thanks to major texture reduction and color improvements. Due to superior illumination, all textures are sharper despite the 8x resolution.

Several visual effects and animations have been enhanced to match the rest of Perch! source package improvements. While these updates and enhancements affect most of the game, the resource pack emphasizes minimalism. Clear textures are straightforward to discern. GUI and menus have been updated to match the resource pack. HUD, menu, and inventory objects in Perch! were scaled down to look more angular and like an 8-bit game. Everything is distinguishable despite lower-resolution icons. PVP gamers might enjoy this little RPG pack. Lower resolution improves frame rate and performance. Bass! Resource pack upgrades occur often. J. Bergelin, the resource pack developer, created a Discord group for player feedback and update proposals. With each update, the resource pack nears 8x resolution for all game components. Perch! may boost performance on older systems because original Minecraft uses 16x resolution. For vanilla Minecraft players, it’s excellent too. Meanwhile, lower-resolution textures reduce source pack file size. Perch! installs easily like other resource packs.

All Minecraft versions should support Bass!: 1.19.1 – 1.19 – 1.18.2 – 1.18.1 – 1.18 – 1.17.1 – 1.17 – 1.16.5 – 1.16.4 – 1.16.3 – 1.16.2 – 1.16.1 – 1.16 – 1.15.2 – 1.15.1 – 1.15
