If you're a fan of vivid comic book style textures then look no further HerrSommer Dye resource pack. Unlike the extremely cartoony packs from the likes of PureBDCraft, it manages to perfectly combine the original feel of Minecraft with a more energetic look that closely mimics the comics. When you first load it, it will almost feel like the brightness and gamma have been increased more than the game itself allows, because everything is alive. One of the benefits of this pack is that you won't have to deal with the protruding pixels of the original blocks, which is common with resource packs that are still being worked on. HerrSommer Dye is more than 90% complete, so even the rarely used blocks will be completely reworked and updated.

While the textures still carry the traditional boxy feel, you'll notice a significant jump in quality mostly where the original game's textures would have had rough edges. Also, the extremely bright look will take over some of the darker areas, such as forts, mines, and even the End itself. Once you get used to it, you won't be able to go back to the original textures because they will look too grim. Although the package is almost complete, the latest version is for Minecraft 1.8.x. Additionally, if you want to experience the true potential of this package, you will need to use it in conjunction with Optifine. This will also help keep your performance intact as the pack itself has a 64×64 resolution, three times the original textures. All in all, the HerrSommer Dye texture pack remains a favorite of the Minecraft community, even though its updates are few and far between.

How to install HerrSommer Dye Resource Pack:
- Most source packages require Optifine, so be sure to download and install it. – a general recommended step for all packages, Optifine is also needed for most shaders
- Download the HerrSommer Dye texture pack for Minecraft from the download section below. – if there are many different versions, just choose the one you like, is compatible with your version/edition of minecraft that you think your computer can handle in terms of performance.
- Launch the game client via the Minecraft launcher.
- Click “Options” in the main menu.
- Click on “Resource Packs…” from the options menu.
- Click “Open Resource Pack Folder”. – a folder named “resourcepacks” will appear.
- Move the .zip file you downloaded in the first step into the newly opened “resourcepacks” folder.
- Click “Done”.
- Click on “Resource Packs…” again.
- Your package should appear in the left window, just hover over it and click on the arrow pointing to the right.
QUICK TIP: Sometimes when activating a pack, the game may say that the pack is made for a newer or older version of Minecraft. This is just a warning, it doesn't affect your game in any way and you can still activate and enjoy the pack by just clicking “Yes” when prompted.
- Click “Done” again.
- The package has now been successfully loaded and is ready to use in your world!
