Not everyone wants a Minecraft resource pack that completely changes the game's identity and turns it into something resembling the original. Feathercloud Resource Pack offers a different perspective on what it means to make Minecraft look better while still maintaining its look and feel. Feathercloud Ultra is the HD version of the original Featherclud resource pack and takes existing Minecraft textures and enhances them to the point where the game looks simply amazing. Released just two years ago, Feathercloud ULTRA was the result of many hours of hard work by user Jnaejnae. While the original non-HD version has stopped receiving updates, Feathercloud ULTRA is still receiving new releases to work with the latest versions of the game. Feathercloud ULTRA makes texture quality improvements in Minecraft. While the texture resolution has been increased to x128, which is 8 times the original resolution, the game looks the same.

The difference is that there is more detail on each block. Instead of cramming more detail into the same block, existing textures have been smoothed out. While everything is still created using blocks, the textures seem to have less shaping edges and are much more vibrant. This effect was also achieved by tweaking the colors of certain textures. The grass now uses a lime green color, while the dirt has a more vibrant, less gray color. The same trend can be observed on hundreds of other textures. This is completed by removing the dark border around the blocks. The original developer also used muted custom fonts and improved the players HUD. According to Jnaejnae, over 70% of the textures in the game have been modified and improved in Feathercloud ULTRA. The Feathercloud ULTRA resource pack looks great on its own with smooth textures and vibrant colors. It can be supplemented with a set of shaders to take it a step further, but this may affect performance as the resource pack is already resource intensive due to x128 high resolution textures.
Feathercloud should be compatible with all of these Minecraft versions: 1.12.2 – 1.12 – 1.11.2 – 1.11 – 1.10.2 – 1.10

How to install Feathercloud Resource Pack:
- Most source packages require Optifine, so be sure to download and install it. – a general recommended step for all packages, Optifine is also needed for most shaders
- Download the Feathercloud texture pack for Minecraft from the download section below. – if there are many different versions, just choose the one you like, is compatible with your version/edition of minecraft that you think your computer can handle in terms of performance.
- Launch the game client via the Minecraft launcher.
- Click “Options” in the main menu.
- Click on “Resource Packs…” from the options menu.
- Click “Open Resource Pack Folder”. – a folder named “resourcepacks” will appear.
- Move the .zip file you downloaded in the first step into the newly opened “resourcepacks” folder.
- Click “Done”.
- Click on “Resource Pack…” again.
- Your package should appear in the left window, just hover over it and click on the arrow pointing to the right.
QUICK TIP: Sometimes when activating a pack, the game may say that the pack is made for a newer or older version of Minecraft. This is just a warning, it doesn't affect your game in any way and you can still activate and enjoy the pack by just clicking “Yes” when prompted.
- Click “Done” again.
- The package has now been successfully loaded and is ready to use in your world!
