Even if David's Details resource pack wasn't designed as a medieval-themed resource pack, it definitely has a specific feel to it. It offers an improved alternative to Minecraft players looking for better visuals and a medieval or rustic feel to the game. With a lot of changes and improvements, it brings the Minecraft resource pack to a whole new level and ranks it among the best 64x resource packs. The resource pack was created by user DavidTheDude with the sole purpose of improving the game in more ways than one. Many textures have been reworked from the ground up, while others have been tweaked to look better. Some textures in the game have remained unchanged, but with each update more and more textures are introduced. Better textures complement improved animations and better lighting. The developer recommended shader completely changes the look of the game by adding natural blur and tints. Animations for new objects were created from scratch, while some existing animations were improved.

Textures are more colorful and the addition of new blocks and items allows players to create amazing medieval worlds. Among the more notable changes, David's Details resource pack introduces built-in support for Better Grass and Better Leaves. It also improves the textures of the water, making it easier to see through. Added new blocks and tools will allow players to build stunning fortresses, dungeons and castles. Despite the many changes introduced by David's Detailed resource pack, the desert biomes are mostly unchanged and have the same or similar vanilla textures. Players who enjoy desert biomes may be disappointed as there are currently no plans to upgrade them. Beautifully enhanced visuals are day and night skies. The source pack is available in 64x resolution. While slightly more demanding than the standard 16x resource packs, David's Details texture pack provides much improved visual effects while still being essentially playable on older PCs. As recommended by the developer, David's Details resource pack offers the best experience when using BSL shaders to enhance lighting effects. Optifine is also required.

How to install David's Details Resource Pack:

Most source packages require Optifine, so be sure to download and install it. – a general recommended step for all packages, Optifine is also needed for most shaders
Download the David's Details texture pack for Minecraft from the download section below. – if there are many different versions, just choose the one you like, is compatible with your version/edition of minecraft that you think your computer can handle in terms of performance.
Launch the game client via the Minecraft launcher.
Click “Options” in the main menu.
Click on “Resource Packs…” from the options menu.
Click “Open Resource Pack Folder”. – a folder named “resourcepacks” will appear.
Move the .zip file you downloaded in the first step into the newly opened “resourcepacks” folder.
Click “Done”.
Click on “Resource Pack…” again.
Your package should appear in the left window, just hover over it and click on the arrow pointing to the right.
QUICK TIP: Sometimes when activating a pack, the game may say that the pack is made for a newer or older version of Minecraft. This is just a warning, it doesn't affect your game in any way and you can still activate and enjoy the pack by just clicking “Yes” when prompted.
Click “Done” again.
The package has now been successfully loaded and is ready to use in your world!
