Minecraft resource packs may make it look like a separate game if you delve deep enough. Lighting is rarely considered because most focus on texture resolution and detail. Shader packs improve lighting, sky, and cloud textures. Shader packs can slow game performance. Vanilla Old PCs can run Minecraft, but a shader pack can kill FPS. The solution is a texture pack that mimics shader-pack capability. The Additional Realism resource pack helps him achieve this goal relatively well. DigitalAmbition created another Realism bundle. Updates were made to the May 2022 resource pack. Since it doesn’t add many textures, it doesn’t need frequent updates and problem corrections. Although Augmented Realism is a modest resource bundle, the developer has other projects. The sky is the biggest improvement of the Additional Realism texture pack. Augmented realism has smooth, layered clouds instead of vanilla’s boxy ones. No more pixilation or cartoon skies. Without better Sun and Moon graphics, improved clouds are useless. Proper light diffusion and flare make sunlight more realistic. The moon on the other side has a fresh texture like the genuine moon. The added realism resource pack increases water texture and reflections as well as the sky. Despite its flaws, it looks better than vanilla. Finally, additive realism renders torch, fire, and other shadows and lights. Shadows were smoothed without pixilation, and shadow-like shapes were projected.
The creator claims the resource pack enhances lightmap and shadows over vanilla. Added realism hasn’t affected the player inventories, crafting menu, block texturing, or HUD. These match Vanilla. Augmented realism works with other resource packs. Other game textures have not been touched. The source pack only improves touches, shadows, lighting, and sky textures, not block textures. Augmented realism doesn’t cause motion blur or hazy vision when staring at distant objects, unlike a shader pack. Initially, augmented realism is not a shader pack but seeks to simulate one. This means you obtain most of the shader pack’s visual benefits without installing it. The advantage is that shader packs strain game performance. The Additional Realism resource pack improves gaming performance and visuals approximately equally. This makes resource pack PVP-friendly. It can be installed with other resource packs. Remember that the added realism resource pack has two versions. The free and premium versions are available to everyone. The free version has the above graphic features but lower fidelity. The result is pixilation. The sun, clouds, moon, and shadows are pixilated but better than vanilla. Paid versions have fully smoothed textures. Try the free version before buying the Additional Realism resource pack. Resource pack installation requires Optifine. Due of Optifine’s specific capabilities, it cannot be installed manually.
All Minecraft versions should support further realism: 1.20.4 – 1.20.3 – 1.20.2 – 1.20.1 – 1.20 – 1.19.4 – 1.19.3 – 1.19.2 – 1.19.1 – 1.19 – 1.18.2 – 1.18.1 – 1.18 – 1.17.1 – 1.17
